Physical Education
The Physical Education program at Lyndhurst Primary School promotes the enjoyment of physical activity in a highly engaging and safe environment. In addition to knowledge and skills, personal and social development are prioritised to empower students to consistently reflect the school values in a sporting context.
Our junior program encompasses fundamental motor and movement skills, non-competitive games, balance/ gymnastics and athletics. The students also learn the importance of safety procedures when moving and using various equipment.
In the middle and senior years our program progresses from the development of basic skills to the performance of complex movement patterns in team-based games, such as soccer and netball. To develop student ‘game sense’, students explore tactics and strategies, in addition to understanding that strength, flexibility and endurance are related to physical fitness and performance.
